Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 30, 2026
CanICarryIt.com ("we", "the site") is a free reference tool that explains airline carry-on and checked baggage rules. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the site touches, why, and what never leaves your device. The short version: the site works without collecting personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, and nothing you search or pack is transmitted to a server we control.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for, receive, or store your name, email address, phone number, location, or travel details when you
browse the site. Item searches run entirely in your browser. The pack checklist saves your selections to your own
device via localStorage —
you can wipe it anytime by clearing your browser data or pressing "Clear" on the tool.
Preferences stored on your device
To keep the site pleasant to use, your browser remembers three settings locally: dark or light theme, inches or centimeters, and your preferred security region (TSA or CATSA). These never leave your device and are not visible to us.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (when enabled) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are read, roughly how long, and from which countries — so we know which item pages need updating. Google Analytics sets cookies and processes pseudonymous identifiers under Google's own privacy policy. You can block it with any reputable tracker blocker or browser setting; the site remains fully functional.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
This site is monetized with display advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, and you can learn more about how Google uses data at its "How Google uses information from sites that use our services" page. Where required (EEA, UK, Switzerland), ads are shown only after the choices you make in the consent banner presented by Google's consent tools.
Contact form
If you email us (including through the contact page), we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply. We do not add you to a mailing list, sell addresses, or share correspondence beyond what is needed to answer you.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others)
Because we hold no personal account data about you, most data-rights requests are satisfied by the design of the site itself: there is nothing to export or delete on our servers beyond email correspondence, which we will delete on request. California residents: we do not sell or "share" personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. EEA/UK visitors: our lawful basis for the minimal processing described above is legitimate interest in operating and improving a free public reference.
Children
The site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13. We knowingly collect no information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above moves and significant changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
