Argent et objets de valeur on a plane

Security does not limit money or valuables at all — the limits that bite are customs declarations and theft physics. Cash is unlimited on US and Canadian domestic flights; internationally, $10,000 (or CA$10,000) is a declaration threshold, not a cap, and declaring is free. Gold and watches pass security without paperwork, but destination duty rules decide what you owe on arrival — India’s jewelry allowances being the classic example. One rule protects everything in this category: valuables never go in checked luggage. Airline liability for them in the hold is typically excluded, and the cabin is the only bag you control.
