How do aviation authorities measure scissor blade lengths?
TSA measures scissor blades strictly from the center pivot fulcrum screw to the blade tip: blades measuring 4 inches (10.1 cm) or less are permitted in carry-on luggage. In Canada and Europe, the limit is strictly 6 cm (2.36 inches).
What tools and razors are permitted in cabin baggage?
Wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers 7 inches or shorter are allowed in carry-on bags. Disposable razors and cartridge shavers travel freely; loose double-edged safety razor blades and box cutters must go in checked luggage.
